Additional unannounced quizzes may be given in lecture
or lab during the course of the term. Exams will principally cover
the material presented in class, but some questions will be based on the
reading assignments. Plus and minus grades will be assigned at the
descretion of the instructor. The percentages listed above are sufficient
to guarantee a given grade; grade ranges may stretch lower. For example,
a 78% may be a B by the end of the term, but an 80% will guarantee a B-.
Plus and minus grades will be awarded at the discretion of the instructor.
That said, try not to worry about the points. Focus your energy on
understanding the concepts presented and how the pieces fit together.
If you work at learning the material, lots of points and a good grade will
follow on their own.
